CAST Water Safety Foundation

May is Water Safety Month!

CAST kicked off the first day of Water Safety Month with an incredible day of in-water education and collaboration. Ashleigh Bullivant, Executive Director at Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), and 15 certified ISR self-rescue instructors from around the midwest and beyond joined our team and students at the pool.

We are thankful to our CAST Swim Families who participated in lessons on this day of instructor professional development.

NBC 5 Chicago News made a visit during the workshop to highlight the importance of water safety.

Water Safety Tips!

If a child is missing, check the water first. Most toddler drownings happen during non-swim time.

Ask your child's swim instructor this question: How and when will these lessons teach my child to find their own air? The sooner, the safer!

If everybody is watching the pool, nobody is watching the pool. Many drownings happen within a few feet of supervising adults.

The swimming pool is the most common scene of misuse and overuse of life jackets and floaties.

Please follow CAST to learn all of the water safety layers of protection and to strategize, share & save lives!
